People, Place and Perfection

Every weekend here, in Durban, seems to bring with it, its share of surprises for me. Last week though, Durbs felt like Gauteng with the number of familiar faces around. But this week was different, touching, soul-enriching, and pretty much left me speechless. All in keeping with the theme of Mother's Day, it would seem. It all started when I did my rounds as usual, of Saturday morning shopping, visits or the like.. I took cousin Fatima to her tuition session, did my thing for an hour and a half and went by to pick her up in Redhill somewhere. Next stop, we needed to find this place in Overport where she was to undertake some community service drive at a home for the elderly. Women, in particular. The plan was to be her taxi service to and fro and get some of my own work done in between. But that all changed when I finally descended on this place. And of course, since everything has a reason, it came to pass that I was meant to find and visit Baitul Hifazat this warm Saturday afternoon...

to be continued...

But its by the mere act of dreaming that I find that world and the life lived there is oh so blissful
